Temporary cessation of fishing activities as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak
Financial assistance for the temporary cessation of fishing activities:
- Between 1/3/2020 and 31/12/2020 for vessels which, until 15/10/2020 carried an Automatic Vessel Tracking Device (VMS) and did not exhaust the eligible time limit of 90 days of cessation of fishing activity, in the context of No. 1990 / 23.09.2020 Invitation for submission of funding applications.
- Between 1/3/2020 and 31/12/2020 for vessels which, until 15/10/2020, did not carry an Automatic Vessel Tracking Device (VMS), solely due to the fact that they had no obligation to do so.
The support granted may not exceed 90 days in total for the period from 1/3/2020 to 31/12/2020, for each vessel. The aim is to mitigate the effects of the cessation of fishing vessels as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19.
Target Audience
Beneficiaries of the financial aid of Action (d) of Measure 3.1.9 are natural or legal persons, owners of fishing vessels, the vessels of which are registered or dinghies / registered in BEMS as active vessels, carry a Satellite Device (Automatic Location) deck calendar for those who do not have the obligation to install a VMS, and who have been fishing at sea for at least 120 days, during the 2 calendar years preceding the date of submission of the support application.
