Professional Experience Acquisition Program for 25,000 Young Unemployed Individuals

On Friday, June 7, at 11:00 a.m., applications opened for businesses for the new 'Professional Experience Acquisition Program for unemployed youth aged 18-29,' funded by the ESPA.

Through the new program, 25,000 young people will have the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience. The aim of the action is to enhance young people's access to the labor market and to curb the brain drain.

Businesses

Private sector businesses nationwide can participate if they haven't reduced staff in the three months prior to application. Business eligibility based on staff size:

0-3 employees: 1 participant

4-9 employees: 2 participants

10-19 employees: 3 participants

20-30 employees: 5 participants

31-50 employees: 8 participants

51+ employees: up to 20% of staff, max 20 participants.

Beneficiaries

Unemployed individuals aged 18-29 registered in the digital unemployed register of DYPA, not in education, training, or employment at the time of placement.

Duration and Compensation

8-hour workdays, 5 days a week for 7 months. Monthly compensation is equal to the legal minimum wage, plus holiday bonuses. Participants receive full medical coverage under e-EFKA insurance.

Budget

The program, with a budget of €200 million, is co-financed by Greece and the EU under the "Human Resources and Social Cohesion" program, Priority 5 "Youth Employment (15-29 years) NEETs".

Process

  1. Businesses submit electronic applications on gov.gr.
  2. Specify the required positions and qualifications.
  3. DYPA verifies business eligibility.
  4. DYPA career counselors recommend candidates based on position requirements.
  5. Businesses select candidates and sign an agreement.
